10th All India Police Shooting Sports Championship 2016
10th All India Police Shooting (Sports) Championship 2016 will be held at Vattiyoorkavu Shooting Range (located at Central Polytechnic campus) Thiruvananthapuram from 21st to 24th November, 2016, Kerala Police will be hosting the event.
Location of range:
Vattiyoorkavu Shooting range is about 9 Kms from Thiruvananthapuram Central Railway Station and 16 Kms from Thiruvananthapuram International Airport.
Thiruvananthapuram is easily accessible by road, train and air. NH 47 (Connecting Salem with Kanniyakumari) passes through Thiruvananthapuram.
Weather in Thiruvananthapuram during the end of November is pleasant and sunny with spotty showers during day and partly cloudy with showers during night.
All State Police/UTs and CPOs Teams are likely to participate in the10th All India Police Shooting (Sports) Championship 2016. Detailed schedule of events will be sent later. All the Teams should report on 19.11.2016 AN at Thiruvananthapuram, without fail.
Every competitor participating in the Championship should be borne on the strength of the organization and a certificate to this effect at the bottom of the entry form shall be appended duly signed by the authorized signatory not below the rank of Dy. Inspector General. Entry of one particular Competitor will be restricted to the number of matches as provided for in the General Rules by All India Police (Sports) Control Board, New Delhi.
Entry form, Nominal Roll and Entry Fee:
Three copies of entry forms along with nominal roll (with rank wise details) of the team may please be sent to the Organising Secretary, AIPSSC-2016 at the following address, with a copy to Secretary AIPSCB, 25 Akbar Road, New Delhi – 110001.
Organising Secretary AIPSSC – 2016
O/o Inspector General of Police, Thiruvananthapuram Range,
Nandavanam, Vikas Bhavan.P O, Thiruvananthapuram-695033, Kerala. Entry fee at the rate of Rs. 50/- per participant including reserves, managers, coaches and doctor should also be sent to the above mentioned address. Entry fee should be sent in form of an account payee Demand Draft in favour of 'Organising Secretary, 8th All India Policing Shooting (Sports) Championship'. Entry form, nominal roll and entry fee should reach on or before 30.10.2016.
The AIPSSC will be conducted as per the ISSF (International Sports Shooting Federation) Rules and Regulations as amended from time to time subject to conditions prescribed in the General Rules for AIPSSC by the AIPSCB New Delhi. The tentative Programme is enclosed as Appx-A.
Well qualified and NRAI accredited official will be employed. However, in case of any deficiency, eminent shooters/administrators accompanying the teams will be detailed for officiating.
All the Participant will be given practice at the Shooting Range on 19th and 20th November, 2016 only, as per rules and availability of time.
Weapons & Ammunition
All teams will bring their own weapons & required ammunition for practice and the firing competition. Magazine facilities only will be provided by organizers. It is once again reiterated that weapons & the required ammunition should be brought by the respective Teams.
Opening / Closing Ceremony:
- All firers should participate in the Opening/Closing Ceremony.
- Dress Order: Teams should have a good and smart dress for the Marchpast. All participants in a Team should wear the same dress during Marchpast.
- Each team will bring two unit flags of their own State colour of the size of 6' x 4' and 3'x2'.
- A technical clinic will be held at the Range on 20th November at 10.00 AM. The PET will also be conducted on 20th itself at the Range.
- Rehearsal for Opening Ceremony shall be held on 20th November, 2016 at 11.00 hrs at the Vattiyoorkavu Shooting Range.
- All team departures should be arranged for 24th night or 25th November, 2016.
Opening / Closing Ceremony:
All trophies won at the last AIPSSC may be arranged and to be delivered to the Secretary Central Coordinating Committee, New Delhi by 20.10.2016 by the respective organization.
Separate accommodation will be provided for the Team Managers & Officials as well as participants in the rank of Gazetted Officers. All personnel should bring their own bedding. It will not be possible to provide family accommodation to any officer accompanying the Team. However, Hotel accommodation on a payment basis can be provided, on specific request.
All teams are expected to bring their cooking and dining Utensils. Dry and fresh ration will be made available by Organising Committee on payment. Kitchen facilities will be provided to all the teams.
Cooking Gas :
Organising Committee will arrange to supply Gas cylinder as well as Gas stoves to all the teams, on payment. All the teams should bring their own cooking utensils accordingly. No firewood will be allowed for cooking.
Medical Aid Post will be established at the Firing Range.
Control Room :
A round the clock control room will function with effect from 10.11.2016 till the departure of all the teams. Arrival and departure of the teams would be registered at the Control Room for further management. The following information will be available at the Control Room.

- Arrival and departure of Team.
Security Arrangement :
In order to ensure security all officials and members of the team will be required to carry their identity Cards. Every member of the participating team should bring two recent photographs of passport size in uniform in purpose of preparing AIPSSC-2016 identity card. It is emphasized that all security related instructions displayed and communicated be strictly observed. Team Managers/incharge are requested to ensure highest standards of discipline by their respective team members.
As most of the team and Team Managers are expected to come by train, vehicles will be provided to receive the Team at Thiruvananthapuram Railway Station to the place of stay. Vehicles will be provided to the Team Managers/Captain for their transportation during their stay. It is emphasized that it will not be possible to provide individual vehicles to the officers.
Arrival of Teams :
All participating teams are requested to reach Thiruvananthapuram on 19th November, 2016. It is emphasized that it will not be possible to render any administrative assistance to the teams arriving at Thiruvananthapuram before 19th November, 2016. All teams should intimate their arrival travel plan to control room latest by 10th November, 2016, so that they are not inconvenienced. Since Railways have their well established computer network throughout the country, return journey reservation may please be made by the teams themselves as it will not be possible to arrange for rail reservation, at short notice.
A very high standard of discipline is expected from all officers and men of the participating teams. Team Managers will be personally responsible for orderly conduct of their team members during period of the Championship.
Arms & Ammunition and other equipment:
All teams are requested to deposit their arms and ammunition at the strong room established at Thiruvananthapuram. It shall be the responsibility of the teams/participants to ensure the safe custody of their weapons at the strong room. Team managers / Incharge are advised to bring boxes with locking arrangements so that the weapons, kept in the strong room are doubly secured.
All the members of the participating teams are requested to wear their prescribed dress during various competitions and during the opening and closing ceremonies.
